The Consul General of Iran in Astrakhan got acquainted with the investment potential of the Astrakhan region

 
Irina Melnikova, General Director of Astrakhan Region Development Corporation, held a working meeting with Ahmad Heidarian, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan.

The Iranian diplomat was presented with the investment opportunities of our region. The Minister of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region, Vladimir Golovkov, took part in the event.
 
Opening the meeting, Vladimir Golovkov stressed that Iran is the main trade and economic partner for the Astrakhan region, with which comprehensive cooperation has been developing over the years in trade, logistics, industry and other areas. A promising area is investment cooperation.
 
As a successful example, the Minister of External Relations of the region cited the Iranian company Rosa, which invested almost 2 billion rubles in the construction of a detergent factory in the Astrakhan SEZ. The first stage of the enterprise is scheduled to be put into operation at the beginning of next year.
 
"We strongly welcome the desire of the Consulate General of Iran in Astrakhan to promote the development of investment cooperation between our region and Iran and are ready to provide all possible assistance and support in this, including with the participation of the Astrakhan Region Development Corporation," stressedVladimir Golovkov.
 
In his speech, Ahmad Heidarian noted that the historical roots of trade and economic relations are evidenced by the fact that an official representative office of the Persian state functioned in Astrakhan over 500 years ago.    
 
"Iran and the Astrakhan region have high potential for cooperation. Iranian investors feel safe and comfortable in Russia, they are ready to invest in the economy of your region, the Iranian diplomat stressed. "We are ready to discuss a project to establish joint ventures in the Astrakhan Region and open an exhibition center for Iranian goods.I believe that the Astrakhan Region may eventually become the main hub for their supplies to Russia.

"The Investment Map of the Astrakhan region contains more than 200 ready‑made platforms for the implementation of business ideas. Among them are industrial zones, land for building and agricultural use, vacant premises and buildings. Each site is accompanied by a detailed passport with precise coordinates, cadastral data, photos, and information about government support measures available to the investor, she noted. The resource is open to both Russian and foreign entrepreneurs. Recently, it has a section with ready-made investment projects that take into account the potential of our region - the creation of modern logistics centers, the development of tourism, the processing of local agricultural products and other areas. We are open to investors, ready to provide them with advice, guidance, and investment support for projects."
 
Ahmad Heidarian stressed the relevance of the proposed areas of cooperation, building communication between the Iranian business and JSC Astrakhan Region Development Corporation directly with the Iranian business. He expressed gratitude for the organization of the meeting and expressed interest in strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Iran and our region.
