The district is located in the eastern part of the Astrakhan Region, in the delta of the Volga River. It borders the Kharabalinsky, Narimanovsky and Volodarsky districts, and to the east — the Kurmangazy District of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main enterprise is the Astrakhan Gas Processing Complex. Agriculture is the second most significant sector: output has reached RUB 4.2 billion, with developed beef cattle breeding, camel breeding and vegetable growing. Krasnoyarsky Municipal District is not only an agricultural and gas-processing centre, but also a territory with direct access to international logistics routes, which creates additional competitive advantages for investors focused on exports and interregional trade.
